Hi all. I just installed Firefox on my computer. What visual elements (such as toolbars) can I turn off so that Firefox will work most efficiently with Jaws?

What version of Jaws are you using? Firefox should be find right away.

I am using Jaws 9 with the latest version of Firefox. Since I am totally blind, I'd like to turn off any toolbars that are not necessary for using the program/browsing.

If you go into the view menu and under the toolbars submenu you can turn off anything there. I am also using the same setup as you and the toolbars don't cause a problem for me.

Does anybody know how you can play the sounds on the zone using fire fox? And whare can you gett the latest version

I believe it's quicktme you have to download. There is also an ad-on that will play all navigation sounds. Doesn't work with the beta of FF thouhl.
